Maria and Peter, two regulars from our 7am bootcamp crew, demo excellent form on both the sumo squat (Maria is using a 12kg kettlebell) and chair dips (Peter is using mini parallel bars). Notice Maria’s active spine (great lumbar curve in her low back, yet her chest is elevated and her shoulders are behind her knees). Peter is at a full elbow lock-out and you can tell from the look on his face that executing full ROM on this simple movement is working quite well.
Hey, thank you for the nice comments. It is easier to keep excellent form after watching Steve’s excellent demonstration and listening to the helpful tips. The “if you are looking down during the sumo squat something is wrong” stuck in my mind, so head up, chest out, and everything else falls into place! (the “imagine you are camping in the woods” when demonstrating another squat exercise was too graphic for me).
LOL Maria! You have to admit the camping description got people’s attention.
Oh great. I will forever have that stuck in my head. Well at least it wil help with my form.
Maria Jesus,
You are the best! …now, judging from all the beautiful clothes we have seen you in recently (brought back from Spain, right?), we know you love to shop. It’s time to prioritize new shoes for the IC, but as I suggested to you last time, Kuala Lumpur is probably not the best place to start looking Ms. World Traveler.
