Buddy System

One of the best ways to get the most out of our program is to have a buddy join you. Take Bekki and Gretchen for example. Despite how easy they’re making medicine ball sit-ups appear in this photo, both of them are in the midst of a postpartum comeback. …and yet, can you tell which one of them is having more fun? It’s hard to believe that these pictures were taken on the last round at the end of class today. Bekki (left) was overheard saying something about “unleashing my inner athlete…” Yes Bekki, yes!

The truth is that workout buddies help take the pain away; they often serve as the perfect security blanket during those cold, dark, vulnerable moments in class. Chances are that even if you didn’t sign up with a buddy, you have since found one. Here’s your opportunity to give ‘em a shout out. Who’s in your buddy system and what are a few ways you feel especially snuggled when you’re teamed up?

Jess, Jeff, Mani, Heidi, and Brenda, are people that push me to the limit. Alhtough I act like I am annoyed, inside I am all warm and fuzzy because they help me strive to do my very best. Love you guys!

Yes agreed that often buddies push us to our limits however Jess often pushes me beyond my limits! Guess that is why she is my oldest/bestest friend.

There are so many people I love to partner with at the IC. Right now I am so appreciative of Kat for patiently teaching me how to rock climb and I am missing terribly my two faithful partners Shari and Brenda. Come back ladies. And always my sister, who has been my parter in crime for 32 years.

Buddies do so much good! I’ll never forget the moment in Boortcamp when I discovered–with Susan Reeves as my partner–that I could do a sit-up postpartum/c-section. Magical!

Paty, Nani and Wendy (when the heck is she baaack from a month of family vacation??!!) We crack jokes, make funny faces, inappropriate commentary, perhaps at times, and of course MAKE noise! grunt and yelp and gurgle. I marvel that more IC’ers don’t make noise. I partnered with the ever jealous and cheerful backpacking Eric, but was sore for 10 days or sooo…go boy! The connections and encouragement and laughter and community make the IC the gem it is.
