With only 2+ focused months of KB Sport training and 2 weeks notice, Team Ice Chamber (Heidy, Surya, Bear Bear, & Maya) was victorious at the American Kettlebell Club Classic in Las Vegas today! It was an action packed event with world-class athletes and amazing feats of strength.
Here are the results from the amateur Women’s Long Cycle event in their respective weight classes:
Heidy: Gold Medal
Surya: Gold Medal
Bear Bear: Silver Medal
Maya: Gold Medal
Unfortunately, Heidy, Surya, and Bear Bear had to jump on an airplane before the results announcement and awards ceremony. Please join us in congratulating these athletes on Monday night as we present their medals and prize winnings!
1. The IC ladies crank out triple digits!
2. Surya begins to find her groove.
3. World Champions and Record Holders Ivan Denisov and Valery Fedorenko present Maya the gold.
4. Bear Bear multi-tasks by chalking and smiling during her final minutes of prep time.
5. We could not have done it without the help of the Douglas, Susan, Rylee, and Eddie.
6. Our great friends Keesha and Britni from Las Vegas came out for full support (including Mateo sitting).
I am SO PROUD of you all! You guys were getting all kinds of kudos behind the scene. One judge asked me how many years you all have been sport training (haha). I am sorry you missed the awards ceremony
You guys each deserved your moment, but I graciously accepted in your honor (super fun for me btw)!

One highlight I must share from the event…
There’s nothing worse than telling four ladies at 11pm the night before (after a lengthy rules meeting) that shorts were required by all competitors. AAAck! We need new outfits??? None of us brought shorts! Well, not ones we’d wear in real life. So, we had to get really creative… Surya’s wearing her swim trunks, Bear’s wearing my swim trunks, I turned my brand new hot pants into 80s biker shorts (yuck), and Heidy’s wearing Bonnie’s (American KB Champ) daisy dukes. What happens in Vegas…

A HUGE sincere thank you to everyone at the IC for supporting this team. The positive vibes were felt in Vegas. I genuinely feel that we could not have done it without everyone’s assistance and well wishes.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support. I could absolutely feel the vibes from the Ice Chamber . I am inspired every time I come to class and work out with each of you amazing athletes. It is incredible to be part of such a positive community. Thank you to Maya and Steve for creating such a unique and inspiring community of trainers, friends, and kick ass athletes. It was an amazing experience and I was so proud to represent the IC. Thank you to Doug, Susan, and Rylee for providing such positive vibes.

What a great time!! Now that my nerves have calmed down I can surely say I want to do it again. Thanks for all the cheers and support. So happy that we all did so well. I am so happy to come second behind such super star as Maya. Big thanks to the Reeves for making the day trip and providing support.
Still laughing at the 11:00pm phone call from Steve saying we all have to wear shorts. It was like waking up from a nightmare since all don’t wear shorts. But it all worked out in the end.

I have to chime in my congratulations as well. You all impress me. I worked at school today with Surya’s son and it was so wonderful that he told me right away that his Mom had gotten a gold medal!!! What a wonderful example you all are to your families and us.
