We already miss our Berkeley / Albany athletes as they head back to college for their fall semester! Jo Jo (rowing) and Dakota (equestrian) are heading back to Brown while Artemis (softball) is starting her first semester at Wellesley.
These incredible young ladies push hard everyday (5x per week at the IC) and we wish them the best this academic year.
One of the things I love about the Ice Chamber is getting to work out with wonderful athletes of all ages and experience levels, and being around you outstanding college athletes is inspiring. To JoJo who comes at 0600 when I do — we will miss your encouraging presence and helpful coaching. You’ll be great at whatever you decide to do. Good luck next year to all of you!
Good luck ladies!!! Thank you for spending your summer with us.
Jojo, you single-handedly improved rowing technique for over 200 people this summer. What a blast! We just can’t thank you enough for every day you spent here both as an athlete and as a teacher. You are already so greatly missed by us all!!!
I concur with Catha that our young athletes bring out the best in all of us. There’s no doubt Artemis, Dakota, and JoJo have bright futures in front of them. Humility and athletic prowess are a rare combo, but these ladies have it all.
JoJo, thank you for being such an integral part of our team. You’ve got a unique ability to bring both smiles and tears (2K race) to lots of people on a regular basis. We’ll miss you Champ!
Hope to see you back at winter break and please keep us posted on your athletic events!!
JoJo, thank so much for your tips on rowing – very much needed and appreciated! The rowing thing kicks my butt – how do you do it?!!!!!
Jo, thanks for the great coaching (but not for introducing 2K to our repertoire). We’ll miss you!
Artemis and Dakota, go on with your bad selves and have a kick ass year!
JoJo we miss you already!! thanks so much for all of your help this summer…!!
Good Luck Artemis and Dakota have a wonderful year
Jo Jo, I will miss you. Thanks for all your encouragment and rowing tips. I hope all three of you have a great year.
Hey Steve and Maya!
I just finished my first day at Wellesley and my first day of working out in their gym! I was upset when my mom left my college today, so I thought what better way to deal than exercise! I did 2.5 miles running/on the elliptical interspersed with sets of squats, lunges, tricep dips, and pushups and felt worlds better afterward. Thank you for helping me develop such healthy habits – you rock!
All the best,
Artemis
back to the grind… I know how that goes! Thanks JoJo for improving my rowing form and endurance
hey guys!!
I just did 30 minutes on the erg with people much stronger than i. apparently that machine never gets kinder. (Boo!!) i’m guessing that’s why Steve and Maya like it so much.
Anyway, I hope everyone is well and I expect to see GREAT improvements when I show up in December.
I had a blast this summer thanks to you all!
