Over 300 spectators and close to 50 competitors rocked the IC Fall KB Meet today. Thank you all for coming!
Congratulations to all of the competitors on their stellar performances. Phenomenal is an understatement!

so.much.fun.! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Let’s just say our routine would have been a little flat (tame) if Rune was still on the fires in LA
Thank you for a great day and making it fun for everyone, including the children.
What an awesome production today!
As a guest of one of your members, I must say I was blown away by the sense of community by the members present. The Ice Chamber put my current gym to shame and its only too bad that I do not live close enough to sign on for one of your boot camp sessions. Any chance for an Ice Chamber 2 in the Pennisula?
that was the best gift ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was one incredible event. It was like Lollapalooza for kettlebelling. Steve and Maya, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2009.
That was nothing but pure fun! A huge thank you to Maya and Steve. I’m getting all misty over here. I just had such a good time after so much hard work. Oy.
Thanks LP. Your routine was on fire!
Calvin and Sherry, you left before the awards ceremony but just so you know, Calvin won Silver and Sherry won Gold! Congrats!
It was an incredibel event thanks to all of you.
What an amazing event! What an incredible group of athletes! What a wonderful community! Thank you, everyone, for an unforgettable day!
I thought we were on fire! Leslie’s team was creative, well done, and so fun to watch!
Leslie and Frieda- great job and so inspiring.
Wow !!!
I am not going to miss this event next year…Great job!!
Chris
Yesterday’s event was transformative for a lot of people. All the hard work was put to the test in a high-octane, competitive environment, and because of the incredibly supportive community many were able to rise to the challenge and deliver their personal best. So, hats off to everyone who made it up there to swing their bell! Thank you Steve and Maya for helping us along in the journey. And – I’ll never think of the Hustle the same way again…
What an incredible production! Congratulations to Steven, Maya, judges and competitors for putting in so much work to make it a success. At one point during the morning I looked around the room at all of the wonderful people that I’ve gotten to know through the IC, and I was reminded of how thankful I am to be part of this community.
Every participant blew me away. This event was so special because of you guys. I think most would agree that the two starlets of the day were Rylee and Frida. They absolutely captured the spirit and the camaraderie of the experience… plus, 20 minutes with a 10 lb. bell is no joke for the little ones! (Great coaching from Bear, the Reeves, and Sam.) I was also inspired by all the competitors who did not medal because they showed such tremendous heart up there and deserve every bit of the spotlight too. We could’ve handed out several awards for technical proficiency–you guys rocked it, especially our devoted Wednesday nighters.
I also must say how fortunate we all are to have Jess everyday–teaching as many IC’ers as possible the kb methods of the WKC as well as the integrative approach of the IKFF. She has been representin behind the scenes! …and it was obvious when her clients, like 54 year old “Hot Mama” Jamison, stepped on stage yesterday. A truly inspiring day!
…and don’t get me started on the Synchronized Bellin’ competition. Actually, I’m speechless.
We were lucky our trip was delayed by a day and we stopped in to witness this amazing event. We couldn’t stop talking about it the whole way up to tahoe…
Amazing, wonderful, fun and memorable! What a great event and a very special experience. I was impressed and moved by the spirit of the day and the very wonderful participants. Thanks to Steven and Maya the the crew of organizers, judges, and helpers!
I thought I’d stop by for a little while, drop off the cake, chat with some friends and watch a bit of kettlebell swinging…. Four and a half hours later, I didn’t want to go home (and only did when I did because of in-laws arriving in town)! I feel so lucky to be part of this community, and I’m inspired to start training for next year! (Especially that synchro event– SO FUN!)
Everyday day at IC is a gift to treasure. And Saturday was a way to share in that treasure with so many more at one time.
I remember thinking that Saturday was going to be a long day and that I needed to get mentally ready for it. This was really the first athletic competition of my life and I was uncertain how to approach it. There were recent nights that I woke up hours early and could not get back to sleep, because I was thinking about this day. Sometimes it was about wanting to win or a least stand out in a respectable way. Sometimes, it was about the responsibility of judging.
Saturday was not a long day. It passed much faster than I wanted. When I stood on the platform I felt content and peaceful. I would not have guessed that if you asked me an hour before. To borrow from Kristin, “Yesterday’s event was transformative for a lot of people”. That transformation is easier when you are with great trainers and fellow athletes.
And watching our daughter during her flight still puts a tear in my eye. We were (are) so proud of her.
Thank you to everyone for being there….
Tracy and I were so glad to have a bouncy house! Excellent planning for the little ones, S&M! And I have to say that you guys are the most supportive people ever.
Really, it would have been nothing without you all. You guys make this place what it is. We owe you tons of gratitude! We’re working on the video. There’s too much great footage edit…
36 hours later and I am still elated (and still exhausted).
Steve, Maya, and Jess, it really is a testament to you all that you could get 50 people to train hard and then put it all on the line. And I mean all. The effort people put out could be seen in their faces and in their incredible numbers. I know I say this a lot but it’s only because I mean it – it is such an honor to train, work out and now compete with all of you.
Does anyone have film of Rylee and Frieda? Etta wants to watch (and I do too!)
Thanks to everyone who organized such a great event! I know how much work must have gone into planning something like that….I had a lot of fun and even though I didn’t have family there to support me, I still felt incredibly supported by all the other ICers and staff! And now my mentality is hey, if I can swing 12 pounds around for 20 minutes, I can do anything!! Thanks again!
Excellent event by the looks of it. Steve and Maya and the rest of Ice Chamber squad never fail to impress. Hope to see you guys in Atlanta in December or at the Arnold next March. You guys rock!
Ummm Jackie, that was 18 pounds!!!
C-Duff and P-Hump,
Thank you for the East Coast Support. We will definitely see you guys in December and March. From what I hear your numbers are off the charts right now
The girls, and everyone at the gym thank you as well!
What a great day! It was so exciting to see the wonderful progress of all the competitors. Looks like this should be an annual event. Hope to see even more ICers compete next time.
Great work guys. A little less than 2 weeks before the rest of us post results – looking forward to seeing your video to help get me inspired!
What a bash! Thank you to everyone who made it happen.
Throughout the day, I kept looking around and being amazed at what a huge number of dedicated and talented competitors there were. And just as amazing was the huge number of enthusiastic supporters who kept the energy going throughout the whole day. The vibe was incredible. I haven’t been to such an inspiring sporting event in I don’t know how long. The food was fab. The kid activities were awesome. 10’s all around.
Big big congrats to Rylee and Freida. You two rock! Way to be strong girls…and this is only the beginning!
Okay, so I totally have post event withdrawal symptoms… Big ups again to the awesome team of selfless volunteers, most of which were also in the competition, and still pulled extra weight!
What an inspiring day!
We need to give a big shout out to the taco guy! Those were the best damn tacos I’ve ever had. And one of the many rewards I got for judging! I was so nervous to judge to competition, but all the competitors were so wonderful – I was in awe of their strength and determination!! And I was in awe of everyone who helped out or cheered on the competitors. What a great community.
Hey, can I give a shout out to Patty Harper, who a month ago expressed doubt that she could compete with the blue bell. One month later, her #s were off.the.chart!
I had THE best time. I was ridiculously nervous prior to the event, but so happy I did it! Thank you Steve and Maya and TEAM for giving me the opportunity to compete. I am happy and proud to be a part of such a dedicated group of folks with a bonus wicked sense of humor. I have not laughed that hard in sooooo long – thank you to the synchro teams!!! I am still shaking my head and smiling…….
Thought we could make it, but missed a great event it seems. Congrats to all who participated.
What a F-uh-n party!! A perfect combination of all the best things in life: great people, awesome tacos, jumpy house and fierce competition. Thanks so much Steve and Maya and all the rest of the planners/putter on-ers!!
Congratulations to all that trained so hard for this competition! We are all proud of your determination and inspired by your dedication to train for this competition. It was such a wonderful day.
Thanks for the shout, Shari.
Now if I recall that conversation correctly, my doubt was immediately followed by your encouraging words—so thank you for the support. You are one beautiful reason why there’s so much genuine, great sportsmanship at the IC.
As much as many of us had fun with the competitive aspect of this event, it was great to see everyone cheering each other on, coaching their team members and shooting for their personal best. Awesome.
Wow!! I feel like I really missed “the Event” of the year!
How are we so lucky to have 3 (three) STARS in our family.
Congratulations Rylee, Susan and Douglas!!
