Push jerks, snatches, and agility drills before sunrise. Are these people crazy?
Team 0600 is relentless!

How do I explain to Michael the rug burns? He is traveling and will come home tomorrow.
Not sure I like being a commando!
Have a good day.

I posted this picture under a different subject heading, but removed it since it’s better suited for a more important issue.
As parents, we are always wearing multiple hats and we can sometimes find ourselves wandering in many directions – often lost in virtual reality, but not realizing how profoundly. If you discover yourself in this situation like I did, look to your children for guidance. Their purity and magic will put you back on the right path. Here’s an example.
The other day, a client said to me, “Hey Steve, you should be on FaceBook – it’s a great network for your business…” At first I was intrigued, but then I thought about how just the night before, my son tugged at me while I was finishing work on the computer because he wanted me to read to him and rock him to sleep. The image was so powerful that it knocked the common sense back into me. I work 14 hour days, spend most of my time divided between the facility, the office, and meetings. Do I really need more time honing skills as an internet warrior? No. The truth is that as a self-employed person, parent, and teacher, I need more integration with real people and family, real events, real life–not isolation in virtual reality.
Has my son seen enough of my profile? Yes.
Time is priceless.
Our children deserve more FaceTime.
Best.
Steven
p.s. thank you to all the children of the IC for bringing the magic.

A cheap way to work the glutes and hamstrings without the size and cost of heavy machinery.

Beth Thomsen is looking pretty ripped these days. It’s no surprise since this ex-competitive swimmer, kids athletics coach, and super-mom trains with so much heart and determination. Even with a demanding fundraising schedule at her children’s school, Beth sacrificed many hours to fulfill her commitment to “4 Studs and a Nail” (her kettlebell team) and delivered rock star performances in the solo and synchronized events at the IC Kettlebell Meet.

If you are interested in ordering prints from the IC Kettlebell Meet, please sign up in the office. Thank you to our amazing photographers (Courtney, Bart, Christy, and Jen) for donating their time and talent for us all to enjoy these precious moments.

A wise person once said, “pick up something heavy, put it down, and pick it up again.”

Just a week after the IC Kettlebell Meet, members of Team 0600 were at it again. This time they supported the Run Wild for a Child 5K (supporting the SF Firefighters’ Toy Drive) on Sunday.
