Two of the hardest working moms in (and out of) the IC, Les and Anne, chillin’ after the brutal Xterra Marin Headlands 21k.
“Those squats paid off. I actually passed some runners who were crying,” noted Anne.
Who wouldn’t cry? That’s 4000 feet of elevation – yikes…
Congratulations ladies!
Awesome achievement! …particularly because you finished like champs and look so vibrant. Congratulations Leslie and Anne!
Why do you always look good after your runs?
these two are rock stars! congrats
I want to give a huge shout out to Anne! She ran a terrific race, waited for nearly 20 minutes for me to hobble in, and as you all can plainly see, is the only one standing in our post-race pic!
The race was brutal. But fun. I’ll be back.
Wow look at those smiles! I bet you two were saying, “Was that it? Bring it on!”
Congratulations Anne and Leslie!
You guys are the most amazing athletes in my book … you continue to find new terrain (literally) to conquer. I can’t wait for the next race!
Amazing job you two! Enjoy your recovery days!
Wow. I have new IC heroes. And as for recovery days, I’m pretty sure Leslie was there for 10 am bootcamp today…
You ladies rock!!! I’m running with you next time. You both look so happy. Congratulations.
uhhh, was that race this weekend? Because that’s kind of unbelievable. Not calling anyone a liar here, but that WAS Leslie at bootcamp this morning, I was eyeing her during the squats thinking “how does she do that?” and I didn’t even know she climbed a race this weekend. Gimme some of that recovery potion.
Nice job ladies! When’s your next race?
My favorite moment was climbing for the first 1.5 miles, hitting a rolling stretch, saying to Leslie “Active recovery! Just like Steve said” and having her stick out her tongue at me. She’s an amazing athlete, and a generous firend, and I owe her a big drink for doing this with me. Thanks to all of you for your strong support. I literally thought of all the IC trainers and my running buds as I was counting out ten steps at a time up the hills. I am very luck to be part of such a phenomenal community. Many, many thanks.
And the Xterra Wildcat 18k is on Sept 15th in Tilden http://www.trailrace.com/wildcat.html. The more the merrier!
Anne and Les were at Bootcamp this morning – in the flesh. How they recovery so fast, no one really knows.
Even more amazing, I overheard Anne talking about doing the Douple Dipsea later this month. Can anyone spell I-N-S-A-N-E?
I love it!
Way to go Ladies – I remember well our first marathon last October – I’m jogging at leisure since, now and then – you’re out there tearing up the trail! I am inspired for sure…soooo proud of you! Hmmmm, Wildcat (that trail sucks) hmmmmm……..
I love you two!! I couldn’t have two better runnin’ buddies to warm up with and you never cease to impress. Keep rockin’ those trails!!
Awesome! Quick shout out to recent 7 am bootcamper Kristy Hardy who also did that brutal race, and then showed up for the pre-school camping trip that night!
Congrats Les and Anne!!!
Woo Hoo!
congrats Anne and Leslie – you rock!!
You are both awesome and inspiring. I look forward to seeing your wonderful smiles during 10AM bootcamp classes.
