Learn how to throw your loved ones around like teddy bears! 2008 U.S. Olympian, Sayaka Matsumoto of Team 0700, along with her students from the East Bay Judo Institute will be conducting a free demonstration and mini-throwdown at the IC next Saturday, January 23rd at 11am.
Since many IC members have been asking us what exactly Judo is, we thought it was appropriate to show this great documentary produced by Annie.
We are also proud to announce that our friends at East Bay Judo Institute will be conducting a demo at the IC in January featuring Olympian Sayaka Matsumoto. For information, please register here.
Congratulations to all of those that competed in the 2009 AKC Classic in Las Vegas over the weekend. It was a monumental event with two new Masters of Sport (Ukraine and U.S.) and six new Candidates for Master of Sport (Canada and U.S.) made.

Four members of the IC 7:00 crew are teaming up to help raise funds for family programs sponsored by the Mission District YMCA in San Francisco.
Eric Frothingham, Melissa Fernandez, Jonah Meacham, and Greg Free are all contributing to a charity event called Sip and Savor – a wine and top chef extravaganza – on Thursday evening, November 5th, in San Francisco. Eric is event chair, Melissa (chef extraordinaire) is contributing a catered dinner or party to the auction, Jonah consulted on event layout/sound system/music, and Greg is attending and looking forward to bidding in the auction. It’s great to see the IC community extend its reach to make a positive difference beyond the Chamber walls!
